There’s no better way to kick off 2018 than with more episodes of The Ancient Magus‘ Bride, and a new teaser suggests that is right around the corner.

The hit anime just received a gorgeous new key visual depicting Hatori and her flowing dress in front of three other figures in the background, including Elias. If that wasn’t enough a new teaser was also released, teasing plenty of action, dark magic, and crazed dragons. Of course, it will also feature plenty of Elias and Hatori, because ultimately that’s why people tune in.

For those unfamiliar with the series, The Ancient Magus’ Bride centers around Hatori Chise, who has lived a rough life full of neglect and abuse. Chise has never experienced love of any kind, but her life is turned upside down when she meets a strange man with the head of a beast named Elias Ainsworth.

Ainsworth is a sorcerer of great power, often referred to as the Thorn Sorcerer. In this world, a powerful sorcerer is referred to as a Magus. He obtains Chise through a slave auction but decides to free her from his service. Instead, he wants her to be his apprentice, as well as his bride.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride was created by Kore Yamazaki, and was first published in Mag Garden back in 2013. Seven Seas Entertainment picked up the rights to publish it in North America, and a three-part prequel series was created by Wit Studio titled Those Awaiting A Star, and the first part was released in theaters on August 13, 2016.

The anime premiered on October 7, 2017, and Episodes 1 through 12 are available now on Crunchyroll. Episode 13 should hit sometime in January of 2018.
