Star Wars Episode 7 Pre-Production

Now, here's something that you don't read every day. While many movie studios try to keep set photos and spoilers from leaking online, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy plans to embrace these type of Internet spoilers. In an interview with Screenslam (via Slashfilm), Kathleen Kennedy was asked how important secrecy would be for Lucasfilm. Kathleen Kennedy replied, "We talk about that all the time. I think the whole issue of confidentiality is gonna be fascinating as we move into making the movie. If we're shooting anything outside, it's almost impossible to not have things end up on the Internet. So my feeling is, you need to embrace that, especially with the fans around something like Star Wars. We need to recognize that they're important to the process, acknowledge that there are things you're gonna want to make sure they get to know. So I think that's something we're going to monitor and pay attention to and think differently about." Considering that Disney/Lucasfilm has been very secretive about Star Wars Episode 7 so far, Kathleen Kennedy's comments are surprising. At this point, it's still unknown whether the original cast is returning, so it's hard to imagine Lucasfilm letting paparazzi shoot away during Star Wars Episode 7 filming.
