There are few elements more iconic or absurd in the Evil Dead franchise, than Ash Williams’s chainsaw hand.

In Season One, there’s no time-travel, according to executive producer Craig DiGregorio, who teased it for Season Two (maybe).
“My dad showed me AoD when I was a little kid and since then I went back and re-watched through, DiGregorio said. “I was like, ‘Oh, this is great. It’s like a Three Stooges movie and a horror movie all wrapped into one.’”
And while chainsaw hand sex could be really interesting, DiGregorio said they quickly realized the impediments of using the prosthetic you see in the beginning of Season One, but “so we realized we needed to figure out a creative way to give him something that [covered] his hand….Maybe in the first season, there are other, creative ways to get him something new.”
Ash has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead until a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind and Ash becomes mankind’s only hope.
Ash vs. Evil Dead debuts tomorrow night on Starz.
