Gearbox recently unleashed their unique First Person MOBA Battleborn onto the gaming public, but that isn’t keeping the developers from releasing some brand new content for the game.
Gearbox is introducingAlani into the team based shooter, a monk warrior who also happens to be a healer. The striking fighter is the first of five new characters, which are all included in the season pass. They can also be purchased with in-game currency (47,500 credits), and regardless of how you purchase her, the character will be available for play starting on May 31st.

If you own the season pass, however, you can get access to Alani on May 24th to start getting a feel for how she plays.
Alani is a member of the Eldrid faction. She’s a healer by nature but was also trained to fight if the situation calls for it. Her people have an innate relationship with the sea, and thusly she is able to infuse water into her healing abilities and attacks. She has a bone to pick with Rendain as well, due to the fact that he stole the oceans from her planet.
In addition to the new character, Battleborn is also introducing Hero Keys, which will enable Digital Deluxe and Season Pass purchasers to instantly unlock a character of their choosing, including Alani. Players in the recent PS4 Open Beta will receive one Hero Key as well, and in celebration of the recent releases, Gearbox is holding a Double XP event from May 20th to May 25th.
