The catchy 1984 theme song was written and performed by Ray Parker Jr.. It was a huge, skyrocketing to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and clinging to the top spot for three weeks. It even earned Parker an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Son.
“We have ways to bring it in that we’re playing with, so we’ll see,” director Paul Feig told EOnline at the SXSW premiere of Spy. “It’s such an iconic thing that part of you goes, ‘I don’t want to change it,’ but then another part of you wants to update it. It’s one of the biggest questions we’re faced with.”
