Irredeemable is centered on the Plutonian. Once the world’s greatest superhero, the powerful character snapped and took control of the Earth, ruling with an iron and often bloody fist. It falls to the Plutonian’s former colleagues in the hero team called the Paradigm to stop him. In their desperation, the Paradigm turns to one of the world’s most vile supervillains for help.
McKay is coming off an Oscar win for The Big Short, and the surprisingly profitable success of Ant-Man.
Wirkola is best known writing and directing Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
Boom! Studios’ Ross Richie and Stephen Christy will produce, with Gary Sanchez’s McKay and Kevin Messick.
