With the change, Marvel plans to review how the company will accept future submissions and promises to continue recruiting young talent through its Talent Management Department. The company will continue to monitor the Indy comics scene for raw talent. Marvel Talent Coordinator Chris Allo added that the publisher will scour Internet sites such as Deviant Art and other blogs devoted to comic book art, as cyberspace has become an important resource for discovering new talent.

Aspiring artists who cruise the convention circuits in hopes of making their big break shouldn’t panic. Marvel Comics will continue its practice of reviewing portfolios at major conventions in which the publisher actively participates.Marvel will announce submission policy changes after a company audit involving standard operating procedures of talent recruiting is completed.
