New Predator Not a Reboot, Says Director Black

While it’s not totally clear what that means (and it certainly sounds like it will be a sequel that has little if any ties to the previous films, which would have a lot in common with a reboot), Black asked, “Why start over, when you’ve all this rich mythology yet to mine?”

The director told Collider that he doesn’t like reboots generally, but can “really get behind inventive sequels” because “the idea of expanding and exploring the existing Predator mythology, rather than hitting the restart button” is interesting to him.
