NBC announced earlier this week that they’ll use The Olympic Games as a springboard to promote a number of their new fall shows, including full-episode, ad-free previews of a couple of their half-hour sitcoms and, arguably most interesting to comic book fans, a six-minute preview of Revolution, the new show from Lost‘s JJ Abrams, Supernatural‘s Eric Kripke and Iron Man‘s Jon Favreau.According to a press release, the six-minute preview will air next Saturday night, August 4, at 11:54 p.m. That places the preview directly after a planned swimming competition that will feature U.S. Olympic cover boy Michael Phelps.”We are excited to have this unique opportunity to share our new fall shows,” said Robert Hayes, Executive Vice President, NBC Entertainment Digital. “We’re taking the proven success of sampling to the next level, expanding its reach with a comprehensive strategy that makes our entire freshman line-up widely available across multiple digital platforms.”The previews will reportedly be made available online for a limited window following their Olympic-tied air dates, but won’t stay online all the way up until the shows’ premiere dates, so it’s a limited engagement.Revolution starts on September 17.
