“Without giving anything away, the recruitment of the Four Horsemen is very cool,” Oscar Isaac told IGN. “It’s very interesting the way that he does that. You know the idea of – the way that cult leaders do – they find people that are in need of something and try to fulfill that thing in them – as it relates to every one of the Horseman.”

The Horsemen (Death, Famine, Pestilence and War) were hinted at in the X-Men: Days of Future Past post-credits scene. You could see them in the background while Apocalypse was playing Jenga with a pyramid.

Some Horsemen willing chose to fight alongside him, while most were taken by force, mentally manipulated to do his bidding. Willing or not, all of them were bestowed with new abilities or had their abilities enhanced.

Over the centuries, Apocalypse has had many Horsemen. Archangel, Caliban, Gambit and Wolverine have been Death. Ahab, Autumn Rolfson and Sunfire have been Famine. Caliban, Plague and Polaris have been Pestilence. Deathbird, Gazer, Hulk and Abraham Kieros have been War.

We know fromย Bryan Singer thatย  Ben Hardy will be playing metal-winged version of Angel, aka Archangel. That leaves three more slots to be filled. Who do you think will be Apocalypse’s Horsemen?

X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27, 2016.
