Stormtrooper Cosplay Causes Lockdown

A Star Wars fan in Salina, Kansas caused a bit of a stir when he went walking around in his Stormtrooper outfit carrying a replica blast rifle.

As reported by KWCH Eyewitness News, the woman working at a local travel business saw the man and assumed he was armed. She called the police, who arrived to check things out after advising the business to go into “lockdown.”

“Maybe we should call, just make a call,” Action Travel employee Janelle Snyder said. “Due to the stuff that’s happened out in Colorado at the theater and just weird stuff. If he wouldn’t have had the gun, we wouldn’t have thought about it.”

It turns out the man was taking a break from filming Vine videos for his Twitter account, Stormtrooper Sam.

The best part of the whole story is when the reporter in the video says the Action Travel employee “had a bad feeling about it,” because I can’t tell if she was trying to make a joke or not.
