Up until now, most of the official images from James Mangold’s The Wolverine have seen Logan pretty calm and collected–but starting with last night’s latest batch of photos, and continuing through this morning, we’re starting to see that maybe berserker rage isn’t that far off for Hugh Jackman’s depiction of everybody’s favorite mutant.”There’s an urgency and a kind of intensity and hand to hand physicality to the fighting that I hope is a little different than everything else out there,” Mangold told EW last night when the pictures bowed–and there’s certainly a physicality to this poster that’s more pronounced than the previous poster, which was more artistic and focused on the 3D.The anger and anguish in the photo are pretty in keeping with a lot of what we know about the film, too, as Logan grapples with the fallout from X-Men: The Last Stand and heads to Japan, where he seems to always find heartbreak.”He realizes everyone he loves dies, and his whole life is full of pain,” Mangold said. “So it’s better that he just escapes. He can’t die really. He just wants to get away from everything.”
