As E! News reports, the prolific X-Men director is expecting a child with his long-time friend, actress Michelle Clunie.
“Best friends for 25 years, mother and father are both very excited about the upcoming birth and look forward to co-parenting the child together,” Singer’s representative told E! “The pair have been planning this baby for years and have been trying for the last two.”
Singer, the director of X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men: Days of Future Past, is currently prepping for his fourth directorial adventure with Marvel’s mutants in X-Men: Apocalypse. There is currently no indication that the pregnancy or child would hinder the film’s production schedule.
The upcoming film is slated for a May 27, 2016 release and will reunite much of the X-Men: First Class cast including Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and more.
