It’s new comic day’s eve here at ComicBook.com, and with the myriad of excellent titles out on shelves right now, it can be easy to get a bit overwhelmed at the choices.

While your pull list might already be full, there are plenty of books that are worthy of your attention this Wednesday, including the five books highlighted on this list. Whether the book is a great jumping on point, a big finale, or just something different than the predominant superhero fare, there’s something here for everyone.

Centering around a thief named Vaea, Nunzio DeFilippis has created an intriguing character who would be right at home in Bioware’s universe, and the ties introduced to the Inquisition in issue #1 will please fans as well.

Things have been building towards a powerful confrontation, and it all comes to a head in Tomboy #11. As with everything in this book though, not everything is as it seems, and you can assume things will get a little messy.

Jamie Lovett: Defenders #1
Marvel’s premier team from their Netflix universe will now make their prescence felt in the comics with Defenders #1.
This seems like a dream project for Brian Michael Bendis, as he’s always loved Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, and with the lovely artwork of David Marquez (the best part of Civil War II), the book couldn’t be in better hands.

The Space Riders are used to going where others won’t and in fact, it’s sort of become their calling card. That said, the Omega Structure is a whole different ball game, a place described as “a place where Gods go to die”.
Yeah, not exactly brochure worthy is it.

Charlie Ridgely: Martian Manhunter and Marvin The Martian
The Looney Tunes and heroes of the DC Universe don’t seem like the easiest fit, but if there was a match made in heaven it would be this one.
Everyone’s favorite Martian superhero meets the most popular Martian ever in DC’s Martian Manhunter and Marvin The Martian. Things are going to get chaotic, to say the least, but in the best way possible.
Martian Manhunter and Marvin The Martian #1 Special is written by Frank Barbiere and Steve Orlando, with art by Jerome K. Moore and Aaron Lopresti.
