Titan Comics is launching their take on the twelve labors of Hercules in their new ongoing series titled Hercules: Wrath of the Heavens. In his travels, Hercules encountered creatures like the Ceryneian Hind, the Cretan Bull, the Stymphalian birds, and of course the Nemean lion.
In fact, the series will kick off with that legendary battle between Hercules and the lion, and the first issue will come complete with a cover by the talented Walter Simonson. Simonson has slowly revealed his initial cover with Laura Martin over the past few weeks, and now you can see the finished product as well as every step of the sketch process in the gallery.
Hercules: Wrath of the Heavens will serialize the story of Hercules’ twelve labors in English for the first time, and is written by Jean-David Morvan with art by Looky and Walt Simonson.
Morvan studied at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels. Morvan wanted to be a comics artist originally but realized his skillset catered towards telling stories. He resides in Reims, France.
Looky is a self-taught French artist known for his work on Nocturnes Rogues. He’s since worked on La Geste des Chevaliers Dragons and retellings of Snow White and Beauty and the Beast.
Olivier Thill is a graphic designer and character modeler from France, and Hercules: Wrath of The Heavens is his first comic.
