The craziest things happen on the red carpet of a movie premiere. In the case of Suicide Squad's world premiere, it was the writer/director of the film, David Ayer, meeting another writer-director, Kevin Smith (and his daughter Harley). Smith had just been gushing to Comicbook.com about David Ayer, and the very idea that Suicide Squad got made, when Ayer walked up, suddenly standing up next to him.

"I was just talking about you! With this dude, didn't I say?" Smith said, gesturing at Comicbook.com reporter Lucas Siegel. "I was like that f*cking tank movie, I shouldn't have loved it, I said I loved the tank movie! And End of Watch is a real filmmaker's film. See? I said it! Dude, I'm stoked. You're a godd*mned legend."

Ayer echoed the sentiments back to Smith, saying, "I watch your shows on youtube, I watch all that sh*t, your podcast..." before Smith excitedly interrupted, "Are you getting this?!" He said to Ayer, "Dude, I can't make this sh*t, it looks amazing."

Smith introduced his daughter, Harley Quinn Smith (yes, named after the character, which Ayer confirmed), saying, "this is the thing she's been talking about all year long. Not even her own movie (she stars in the Smith-written and directed Yoga Hosers, which has its own event in New Jersey tomorrow), it's this movie."

The pair shared another hug as Smith enthusiastically said, "I'm proud of you," to which Ayer was visibly emotional.
