The fallout from Justice League vs Suicide Squad has put Task Force X in an odd place. With a new leader and their mission in question, the Squad is fracturing at the seams, but things just might have gone from bad to worse.

Spoilers incoming for Suicide Squad #11, so you’ve been warned.

In the issue’s second story, “Life Outside”, Waller finds herself jettisoned from the Squad’s headquarters thanks to the pending investigation from that whole Eclipso incident. Granted, drinking whiskey while next to a crazed Kryptonian general doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, but it still hits the ego a bit.

Waller is taken and dropped off in New Orleans per her request, where the rest of the Squad is currently taking some much-needed shore leave. As Waller makes her way through the city, Floyd Lawton (Deadshot) has an emotional reunion with his daughter Zoe, who wants Lawton to be her father despite his murky past. Lawton responds “I want that too Zoe, but there’s somebody who won’t let me be free.”

The scene switches back to Waller, who feels someone tracking her. A shadowy figure is seen holding twin pistols, offering up only “any last words?” Waller says “don’t miss”, the words quickly falling to the wayside as a shot fires and hits her right in the chest.

It seems to imply that Deadshot is the one who shot her, but then every single member of the Squad has multiple reasons to despise Waller. Then again, she’s also pissed off more than her fair share of people outside of the group during her tenure, so the possibilities cast a rather large net.

Suicide Squad “Life Outside” is written by Rob Williams with art by Eddy Barrows. You can view the official description for the entire issue below.
