Paul Dini, co-creator of Harley Quinn and longtime writer/producer on Batman: The Animated Series, will hold an event in support of his recent graphic novel Harley Quinn: A Celebration of 25 Years at Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles next month.
The event will celebrate Harley's "takeover" of DC's annual Batman Day event, which in turn recognizes the 25th anniversary of Harley's first appearance on TV.
Attending fans can also take home plenty of free giveaways including three new comic books:
- BATMAN DAY 2017 SPECIAL EDITION #1 includes the first chapter of BATMAN VOL. 3: I AM BANE written by Tom King and illustrated by David Finch, plus an original 3-page story by Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti and Bret Blevins.
- HARLEY QUINN BATMAN DAY 2017 SPECIAL EDITION #1 features the first chapter of the JOKER LOVES HARLEY graphic novel by Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti and John Timms.
- DC SUPER HERO GIRLS BATMAN DAY 2017 SPECIAL EDITION #1, a sneak preview of the upcoming all-ages original graphic novel, DC SUPER HERO GIRLS: OUT OF THE BOTTLE written by Shea Fontana with art by Marcelo DiChiara and Agnes Garbowska.
The event takes place on September 23 at 5 p.m. at Barnes & Noble on the Grove. A wristband is required to attend this event and will be issued on a first come, first serve basis to those who purchase Harley Quinn: A Celebration of 25 Years from Barnes & Noble at The Grove beginning that morning at 9am.
Fans are limited to one wristband per book purchase and may bring two additional items from home to be signed by Dini.
You can see the official synopsis for the book below.
From her animated adventures to her bloody stint in the Suicide Squad, HARLEY QUINN: A CELEBRATION OF 25 YEARS captures the greatest comic book moments of the Joker’s main moll, brought to life by industry legends Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, Jim Lee, Jeph Loeb, Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Karl Kesel, Terry Dodson and more!
The true embodiment of the phrase “madly in love,” Harley Quinn may be stark, raving, cuckoo-pants crazy, but she is a woman who stands by her man. Filled with an inexplicable devotion to Batman’s nemesis, the Joker, she’s the Clown Prince of Crime’s most loyal companion.
But while her monstrous “Mistah J” may have led her to a life of crime, he also brought her comic book superstardom! It’s been 25 years since she made her debut, but Harley Quinn’s popularity continues to grow, spreading from animation to comic books to video games to live-action feature films, with no sign of slowing down.
