Man of Steel is getting a sequel at some point in the future, and it looks like DC and Warner Bros. have their sights set on an already-successful comic movie director to give Superman some new life.

After rumors that the studio was interested in Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn, the filmmaker has confirmed that the conversations are indeed taking place.

While speaking with Hey U Guys at the press junket for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Vaughn was asked about his potential involvement with Man of Steel 2. Fortunately, Vaughn had the response we were all hoping for.

“I am planning another Kingsman, I’ve written the treatment and some of the scenes,” Vaughn said of his upcoming slate. “I don’t know what I’m going to do next, but I have had chats about Superman, I love Superman.”

Vaughn has always had a more colorful and exciting tone to his comic films, which is what fans are hoping for in the Man of Steel sequel.

Hopefully, as the DCEU continues to move forward, a decision will be made about who will get placed in the Superman director’s chair sooner rather than later. With the Kingsman sequel finally being released later this month, there’s a possibility Vaughn could have had more than just conversations. It’s not uncommon for big announcements like that to come after the previous project has already been released.
