Danny Elfman Celebrates Batman Day While Working On 'Justice League'

It may be Batman Day, but that doesn't mean that the creators behind Batman can take the day off.

Case in point, legendary composer Danny Elfman recorded a video message in observance of Batman Day while still hard at work on the score for Justice League.

"Hi, I'm Danny Elfman, composer of the original Batman score," Elfman says in the video. "I'm now working on the film Justice League and I'm very happy to be back in the DC family. To everyone out there, I wish a happy Batman Day."

Elfman composed both the original Batman score and the score for Batman Returns. "The Batman Theme" won a Grammy Award and a variation of the theme was later used as the opening music for Batman: The Animated Series.

Justice League originally was to be scored by Hans Zimmer, composer of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel, but Zimmer stepped down after deciding he'd done enough superhero work for his career. Junkie XL, who composed the score for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, was brought in to replace Zimmer, but Junkie XL also left the project shortly after director Zack Snyder stepped down. Elfman was brought in to replace Junkie XL.

Justice League currently has a 4.18 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Anticipation Rating, making it the second-most anticipated upcoming comic book movie among ComicBook.com Users.
