Hidden Atom Easter Egg Spotted in ‘Justice League’

Justice League brought the biggest heroes in DC Comics together on the big screen for the first time, but it also teased more characters, both good and evil, who could be on the way in future films. While some were pretty obvious, one eagle-eyed fan has spotted a hidden Easter Egg that teases Ray Choi, aka Atom, in the DC Universe.

A Reddit user named naelps posted an image from the movie online, focusing on the footage of Silas Stone at S.T.A.R. Labs, trying his best to bring his son Victor back to life. While many people were focused on the action happening in the lab itself, the information filling the sides of the computer screen is actually what contained the well-hidden Easter Egg.

On the right-hand side of the screen, a list of S.T.A.R. Labs employees appears, with Silas Stone’s name highlighted in red. Just four names below is Ryan Choi, a DC Comics character who eventually takes on the mantle of Atom.

Over the years, multiple characters have become the superhero known as Atom, a man who can shrink himself down to molecular levels. Ray Palmer is the most well-known version of Atom, and he’s currently one of the main characters on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow series, where he’s played by Brandon Routh.

In the comics, Ray Choi is also a scientist, and he acts as a student of Palmer’s. Eventually he took over as the Atom, making him the fourth man to do so.

This Easter Egg probably won’t have a big impact on the future DC films, at least not right away, as there have been no public plans to include Atom in the movies anytime soon. However, it does leave the door open to his appearance later on down the road, and gives Choi a connection to the characters that already exist in the films.
