Kevin Conroy On Whether He'd Play A Live-Action Batman

If you are a fan of Batman's animated canon, then you already know who Kevin Conroy is. The voice actor is the man who brought Bruce Wayne to life in Batman: The Animated Series, but Conroy isn't opposed to going live-action. In fact, the actor would be down to play Bruce Wayne himself.

During a recent interview with Comic Book Movie, Conroy sat down to talk about his role in Batman and Harley Quinn. It was there the actor was asked if he'd play Batman in a live-action venture, and Conroy said he'd be down to play an older version of the Gotham hero.

"Well, let's start a writing campaign before I get too old," the actor said. "It would be so much fun! No, at this point, I'd have to be old Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond or something like that."

If you are not familiar with Batman Beyond, then you have a bit to catch up on. The story is set in the DC Animated Universe in a far-off timeline where a younger iteration of Batman is being trained up by an elderly Bruce Wayne. Kevin Conroy did the voice of the Wayne heir for the acclaimed cartoon, so it wouldn't be hard for the actor to get into the live-action role.

Still, it looks like Conroy is fine staying in the world of animation. The actor told HeyUGuys in a recent interview that he's a big fan of the actors who've played Bruce Wayne in the DC Films.

"I said it in addition to saying that everyone's is valid and that I like Michael Keaton, I like Christian Bale...I like them all!" Conroy began. "The one thing Ben Affleck did better than anyone is he got the balance between Batman and Bruce Wayne. There were two personas there and each of the actors have gotten one or the other really good; some people are better as Bruce Wayne, some are better as Batman."

For Conroy, it looks like the actor has a particular soft-spot for Ben Affleck's take on the hero.

"Ben Affleck, uniquely I think, was good at both and he did a really good job of it," the actor said. "I just think Ben Affleck got the balance of both characters better than any of them."

Ben Affleck's Batman can next be seen in Justice League on November 17.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
