It’s no secret that the fan-favorite actor from Game of Thrones will take a starring turn as Aquaman, but in a recent visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live’s late night couch Jason Momoa revealed just how long he’d been sitting on that info.

“I’m Aquaman, finally!” Momoa said. “Say it!”

When Kimmel asked how long he’d been sitting on that juicy casting tidbit, Momoa said he’d known for about five years.

“They just wanted it to be a secret,” he said. “[But] I told all my friends and family,” Momoa admitted.

Momoa told the bigwigs at Warner Bros. he wouldn’t tell anyone, but he made the admission that he’s “really bad at keeping secrets.”

“I, like, buy presents for my wife and was like, ‘just open it now!’” Momoa said. “‘I know it’s Christmas and it’s really far away, but you gotta open this.’ So, I’m really bad at secrets.”

Momoa’s debut as Aquaman will hit silver screens in Zack Snyder’s Justice League later this year. He made a cameo in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which leads into his appearance in the forthcoming team-up film.

Footage released so far shows his civilian alter ego Arthur Curry mixing some choice words with Bruce Wayne, but everyone seems to know that altercation won’t last too long before they team up to take down some Parademons.
