Over the course of Arrow's five seasons so far, Oliver Queen has undergone quite the transformation from rich playboy to vengeful vigilante to superhero and to mayor. However, the sixth season of Arrow may bring about his biggest transformation of all as he steps into the role of a father.
Being a father is something that Oliver's friend, John Diggle, has some experience with and actor John Ramsey has an idea what parenting advice his character may give to Green Arrow.
"I think he and Lyla's parenting philosophy is, 'This is who we are,'" Ramsey tells ComicBook.com. "What they do helps protect American interests and that's that. They're soldiers and everything else is after that. So I think that would be his talk to Oliver, that even though he has a son this is what he does, and that's it.
"I think he's made his peace with that, Diggle has, so I think that would be his advice. That's hard advice, but I think that's how he gets out of bed every night knowing that he has a wife and child that could be compromised because of what he does."
Tough advice, but there's still the question of whether Diggle will be around to give it to Oliver after how Arrow's fifth season ended. Fans will have to wait until the season premiere in October to find out.
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the South China Sea. Oliver returned home to Starling City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. To do this, he created the persona of The Arrow and allied himself with former military man John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), lawyer-turned-vigilante Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) and his sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland).
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak/Overwatch, David Ramsey as John Diggle/Spartan, Katie Cassidy as Dinah Lance/Black Siren, Willa Holland as Thea Queen/Speedy, Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance, and Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt/Mister Terrific.
Arrow will return for its sixth season on The CW on Oct. 12, 2017, with the season premiere episode titled "Fallout."
