During a Facebook Live broadcast earlier today, Arrow star Stephen Amell revealed that there will be a new costume for the Green Arrow.
After saying that there would be a new costume in Season Five, Amell added, “a slightly modified version."
Last year, Oliver evolved into being the Green Arrow, and got a comics-friendly (and sleeve-free) costume, and it was pretty big news when it was revealed at Comic Con International: San Diego. Now, we're less than a month out from Comic Con and Amell is just starting his workout routine. In 21 days, he says, he has to film a major, shirtless action scene.
...So maybe the costume as it currently exists gets damaged or destroyed? Either way, Amell wants to get ripped again before the season starts up, and that's hindered by his first real hiatus since the show started. Of course, it was kind of a forced "vacation," since he was doing press for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. But still
Arrow's fifth season starts filming on July 5, with an eye toward its October debut on The CW. But what's the future of the show? Many fans have speculated that it could go by the wayside after five years, since the flashbacks that make up a chunk of the show would be over -- Oliver did, after all, spend only five years on that island.
“Originally there was a five-year plan but that relates purely to the flashbacks," Amell said when asked about the future for Arrow. "I’m under contract for a couple more years.”0comments
The Arrow Season 5 premiere will air Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. He returned home to Starling City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. To do this, he creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – and allies himself with former military man John Diggle (David Ramsey) and computer science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), while keeping his secret from those closest to him.
