Steven Amell is not a small guy; Any Arrow fan knows that much. The buff actor is as known for his toned physique as he is his acting, but that fact didn’t stop one fan from testing Amell’s strength. Recently, the actor confirmed he had been attacked by a fan during a night out, and now Amell is giving an update on his injuries.

The actor appeared at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in Atlanta and was asked about his run-in during a Q&A panel. “Oh, I’m good,” he said while nodding towards his discolored eye.
“I can’t believe it took five years for this to happen, but I was out in a bar in Syracuse having a really good time watching the UFC fights. Some dude taps me on the shoulder. I turn around and he goes ‘wham’ – head-butts me right in the face,” he recalled.
“I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ He was like, ‘I want to fight the Green Arrow.’ And then I said a bunch of things I can’t repeat on stage. I was like, ‘No, No. I’m a dad.’ And then they kicked him out of the bar.”
The actor then reassured fans that he was fine and that no permanent damage was done. “My face is fine. It feels fine,” he said. “As it heals, it tends to look a little worse because it started off as all one color. But, now, it’s a bunch of weird stuff.”
Fans first learned that Amell had been attacked by a fan earlier this month. The actor posted to his official Facebook page about the ordeal and shared a photo of his bruised eye. He wrote the following message to his legion of fans:
“Dude came up to me yesterday… Head Butts me hard. Outta nowhere… Then says — “I want to fight the Green Arrow.” Paused, looked at him… shook his hand and said no thank you. Because I’m a father and a husband. Pretty manly if you ask me.”
It’s really good to hear that Amell is making a speedy recovery, but fans are still wondering just what the attacker was thinking when he challenged Green Arrow to a fight. If the DC Comics vigilante could take on Deathstroke and Deadshot and come out the other end, then most of us wouldn’t stand a shot against the man. And, as fans know, Amell is a dead-ringer for the Green Arrow; It just doesn’t seem wise to prod the man when he’s toting around a six-pack, you know?
Arrow season 5 is now airing Wednesdays @ 8pm on The CW.
