Ben Affleck’s The Batman Will Reportedly Film In Los Angeles

When it comes to filmmaking, studios have plenty of decisions to make, and shooting locations are one of them. Hollywood often finds itself making production decisions based on factors like time, budget, and practicality – and big blockbusters are usually scrutinized when it comes to filming. Massive sets and all-star celebrities can bet they will shoot abroad when it comes to big studio films, but it looks like Ben Affleck‘s The Batman will defy the trend. According to Batman on Film, the podcast alleges that most of the film will film here in the U.S.

Earlier today, the podcast updated its official website to tell fans about their inside knowledge. Bill “Jett” Ramey wrote that he’s been told “the bulk of the filming of The Batman will take place in Los Angeles – most likely at the Warner Bros. studios in Burbank.”

When the source was asked to elaborate further on the film, they were unable to say if any specific studios were being looked at. However, they were “adamant” that production would be based out of Los Angeles.

Of course, there is a bit of time left for Warner Bros. to settle on shooting locations for The Batman. So far, no script has been finalized for the production, and Affleck has said he’s more than happy to take his time on it. If the project doesn’t shape up to his liking, the star says he has no problem walking away from the movie.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, the actor talked about how The Batman is shaping up, and this is what he had to say. “It’s not a set thing and there’s no script. If it doesn’t come together in a way I think is really great I’m not going to do it.”

If nothing is set in stone, it seems unlikely that Warner Bros. has nailed down any calendar for shooting. However, it would be nice for fans to know much of the film’s shooting will take place on a set soundstage. Moviegoers will expect to see some trademark scenes from the film like Batman’s dramatic rooftop confrontations, so off-set shooting may be necessary for some footage. But, on the whole, The Batman will hopefully come out just fine so long as Affleck gives the script a big thumbs-up.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ciarán Hinds, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Jesse Eisenberg.

Justice League will open in theaters on November 17, 2017. The Batman is rumored to release in Fall 2018.
