“There will be another Gordon family member that will be introduced, so I can tease that,” McKenzie told TV Guide Magazine. “Actually, that’s part of the episode that I get to direct.”

McKenzie is referring to is James’s estranged uncle, Frank Gordon. On Tuesday, it was reported that James Remar (Django Unchained, The Warriors) will portray the character, who is described as “a master at double-teaming and knows how to keep a secret safe.”

Though McKenzie has been shadowing directors for years and almost directed an episode of Southland, the Gotham episode he’ll helm โ€” taking place in the second-half of this season โ€” will mark his directorial debut. “Yes, my first time ever directing,” he said. “I’m so excited. I start prepping right before Christmas and start shooting right after. So, very soon. I’m reading the outlines right now.”

As the virus begins to spread in Gotham, the laboratory that is developing a cure is compromised. Mario and Gordon face off before the wedding, Selina meets an unexpected face and Barbara comes to Nygma with information about Isabella.

The regular cast features Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/the future Riddler, Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, Maggie Geha as the future Poison Ivy, Michael Chiklis as Detective Nathaniel Barnes, Benedict Samuel as Mad Hatter

Gotham is based upon DC characters and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome), Danny Cannon (the CSI franchise, Nikita), John Stephens (Gossip Girl) and Ken Woodruff (The Mentalist) serve as executive producers on the series.

The all-new “Mad City: Beware the Green-Eyed Monster” episode of Gotham will air Monday, November 28 at 8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT on FOX.
