The DCEU Trinity Meets "Sound of Silence" In Amazing Fan Video

The DC Extended Universe might have a weird connection to Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence", but a new video is here to make fans see both in a new light.

A new fan video from YouTuber BATJAX sets scenes from DCEU films to Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence". In particular, the video focuses on the DCEU's "trinity" of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck), and Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill).

The video highlights some of the trio's more somber moments, particularly surrounding the deaths of others that they've experienced throughout their journeys as superheroes. But through footage of Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Wonder Woman, things get a bit more hopeful - culminating in Superman's return and the forming of the Justice League.

The video's balance between darkness and light shows one of the oft-debated things about the DCEU - its tone. But in a way, the video brings to life what was Zack Snyder's goal for the cinematic universe ultimately was.

"The first time I ever sat in Zack's office, he told me people were mad at him for making things too dark." Ezra Miller, who plays Justice League's Barry Allen/The Flash, revealed earlier this year. "Zack always intended for the Justice League to rise out of the darkness, and maybe even bring Batman with them. Maybe an inch."

Justice League is now in theaters; Aquaman arrives on December 21, 2018; Shazam! on April 5, 2019; Wonder Woman 2 on November 1st, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020.
