It looks like DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is bringing some new talent on-board. The show may have just aired its midseason finale, but that is not stopping The CW from gifting fans with a teaser about the second season’s latter half. Thanks to tweet by Caity Lotz, fans have learned that Elyse Levesque (The Originals, Stargate Universe) will guest star in an upcoming episode.
The starlet seems to have nabbed herself quite the role when it comes to Legends of Tomorrow. According to Entertainment Weekly, Levesque is said to be playing Queen Guinevere. The Arthurian character is slated to appear in an episode which airs in February, and fans already have a pretty great guess which one it will be.
Not too long ago, Marc Guggenheim teased fans with the title of the second season’s twelfth episode. The installment is named “Camelot 3000” in a clear reference to an old DC Comics series from the 1980s.
If you are not familiar with what “Camelot 3000” entails by its title, then you can easily catch-up on the reference. Back in 1982, DC Comics first published a Camelot 3000 as part of a twelve-issue comic book series. As you may have guessed, the series has to do with King Arthur and his comrades, but there is a slight twist. The king and his Knights of the Round Table are all reincarnated in the comics and live in 3000 A.D. The world has become an overpopulated, apocalyptic version of its old self, and the King must band together with his old friends to defeat Morgan Le Fay yet again.
Last week, fans were teased with yet another update on “Camelot 3000” and its story thanks to Nick Zano. The actor, who played Dr. Nate Haywood on Legends of Tomorrow, shared a photo on Instagram from filming. The shot shows the actor covered in mud, blood, and water as he wields a long sword. Stuck in the middle of some woods, Zano and his co-star find themselves surrounded by extras who are dressed in Medieval garb and armed with clubs.
If you are curious about Guinevere’s role in Camelot 3000, then you should know it is a complicated one. The fabled heroine is reincarnated as Joan Acton, a military commander in the distant future. She teams back up with Arthur and his Knights as they go to war against Morgan Le Fay. However, Guinevere finds herself torn when she winds up stuck in a love triangle with Arthur and Lancelot yet again.
