While supporting the release of Suicide Squad with an interview on BBC Radio 5, Jared Leto was asked a fan question about what other villains he'd like the Joker to team up with. His answer was a bit unexpected.
"I think that the most compelling character to team up with would be Batman," Leto says. "I know he's not a villain, but it would just be so much fun.
"The thing about this film is, for a lot of people, the Joker is exciting when he's pulling the strings," Leto continues. "In this film, it's more of an introduction to the Joker. As the film stands now, it's much more of a supporting part than a lot of people may have assumed. It feels like there could be more to come."
But will there be more Joker in the upcoming DC Extended Universe movies? "I think it entirely depends upon the response of the public," Leto says. "If they respond to this Joker, I can imagine the Joker coming back. But if they don't, I certainly wouldn't want to overstay my welcome."

Suicide Squad is written and directed by David Ayer and stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Karen Fukuhara, Scott Eastwood and Cara Delevingne.
Suicide Squad is now playing in theaters nationwide.
