Based on the Suicide Squad photos, trailers, and television spots, there’s so much to love about Jared Leto’s portrayal of The Joker; however, I do find some of those tattoos covering his body to be visually distracting, especially the one on his forehead that reads, “Damaged.”
On a positive note: The tattoo of an exaggerated smile on the back of his left-hand is pretty awesome, and apparently, I’m not the only one to think so. Empire has made it the focal point of their two newstand covers for their September issue. Adding a nice amount of contrast to the image, The Joker gives a menacing stare directly into the camera while putting his left hand up to where his mouth is.
