Justice League still has a lot of mystery surrounding it – especially after Zack Snyder dropped out, and Joss Whedon came in, bringing a new creative vision for the film along with him.

As with any major superhero movie that’s part of a larger shared universe, there’s question about what Justice League will tease fans with during the end credits. “Scoopster” aficionado Umberto Gonzalez of Heroic Hollywood just dropped a periscope update for fans, in which he claims that Justice League will have not one, but two post-credit scenes. No details about what the scenes will entail were given – but we have a few theories, which you can read below!
While most DC films have avoided following Marvel’s blueprint, Suicide Squad broke the seal with a post-credits scene between Ben Affleck’s Batman and Viola Davis’ Amada Waller, meant to set up Justice League. With JL blowing the doors of the DCEU wide open, it only makes sense for the studio to use some post-credits moments to set up what comes next…
Meet Green Lantern

The Green Lantern Corps is teased in theย Justice Leagueย trailer, when the villain Steppenwolfย comes to Earth, proclaiming that the Earth is a perfect target, since there are “no Lanterns,” and “no Kryptonians,” on our planet.ย
That means the Green Lanterns are obviously known in the DCEUย at the timeย Justice Leagueย takes place – they’ve just never had any recruits from Earth, apparently. After the events ofย Justice League it’sย not inconceivableย that a call goes out to theย intergalaticย police force aboutย Apokolipsย invading Earth.ย
It would be a big twist to have Justice Leagueย post-credit scene introduce the Green Lantern Corps. – whether on their home planet OA, or icons like Abin-Surย and Sinestro arriving on Earth to find their first human recruits.ย
With Gonzalez teasing two Green Lanterns inย Justice Leagueย as part of his scoops, this seems like the most likely option for a major post-credits scene.
Darkseid Coming

Steppenwolf is the main villain ofย Justice League, but fans know he’s just a placeholder for his master, Darkseid, lord of Apokolips.ย It’s still unknown whether or not Darkseidย will appear in the firstย Justice Leagueย film or will be saved for the sequel,ย but DC Comicsย fans are excited that he’s one the way!
With Jossย Whedonย onboard now, it’s not a stretch to think that what worked so well forย Avengersย could also work forย Justice League: i.e., teasing the cinematic universe’s overarching “big bad” in a post-credits button scene.ย
Granted, Darkseidย would never flash the sort of smile Thanosย did afterย The Avengers, but his eyes glowing with Omega Beam energy in an otherwise dark lair would be a deliciously ominous teaser for where the DCEU is headed.ย

Superman Returns

The final idea we have is that Superman could be featured in a more personal and intimate post-credits scene – one that’s all about the character, and not setting up future DCEUย events.ย
Henry Cavill’sย Superman will be returning inย Justice League, but there’s speculation that he won’t quite be himself when he first comes back from the dead. Whether that means coming back as an evil Bizarroย version of himself, or simply being out of touch with this humanity – The Man Steel of Steel may need to soften his heart to truly reconnect with humanity.ย
That sets up a post-credits scene opportunity that sees Superman doing something endearing or redemptive in the eyes of fans who have been critical about his DCEUย depiction. Whether that’s re-donning his classic suit, reconnecting with Lois, visiting his father and/or mother whereever they may be, or just rescuing a cat from a tree, endingย Justice Leagueย with a return to the classic good-natured version of Superman would leave the crowd with a warm, fuzzy, feeling they’ve been desperately missing.ย
Justice League will be in theaters on November 17th.
