Deadline is reporting that Jes Macallan (Mistresses, Red Band Society) will be joining the third season of Legends of Tomorrow in a recurring role. Fans already got a brief glimpse of Macallan’s character, Special Agent Ava Sharpe, in the SDCC trailer, with Ava trying to reason with Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz) aboard the Waverider. The character description for Ava Sharpe can be found below.

“A hard working agent for a secret branch of the Federal Government (the Time Bureau) dedicated to the regulation of time-travel and the protection of history. She is very smart and incredibly ambitious and always believes she is the smartest person in the room. She is often quite ruthless in obtaining her goals and her drive for perfection has left many discarded friendships (and relationships) in her wake.”

Also joining the cast of Legends of Tomorrow are Tala Ashe, who will be playing Shazam family member Zari Adrianna Tomaz, as well as Billy Zane, who will be playing P.T. Barnum, and Tracy Ifeachor, who will be playing the villainous Kuasa.

The series returns to Tuesday nights at 9 p.m., following new episodes of The Flash, in October.

We reunite with billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), the unconventional historian-turned-superhero Nick Heywood (Nick Zano), and Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh), who together form the meta-human Firestorm. Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.

Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 9th at 8 pm, while The Flash debuts on Tuesday, October 10 at 8 pm. Legends of Tomorrow moves to Tuesdays this Fall, airing right after The Flash on October 10. On Thursday, October 12 at 9 pm Arrow will premiere to round out the DC roster.
