Given his Hollywood pedigree, it seemed like a natural thing to ask Odyssey of the Amazons writer Kevin Grevioux, creator of Underworld and I, Frankenstein, whether he’s using his access to DC to lobby for a Wonder Woman part.

He told ComicBook.com he’s not pursuing such a role…but that he wouldn’t turn it down.

“If [Geoff Johns] were to come to me I wouldn’t turn him down, but I don’t know what part I could play,” Grevioux told ComicBook.com during an interview in support of the new miniseries, which launches tomorrow. “It’d probably be a more modern character or something like that. I don’t know if it would be a hero, or a villain, or just a regular human. Who knows?”

He added, after a pause, “Look, I would welcome the opportunity. Always.”

The first-ever big-screen Wonder Woman movie comes to theaters in 2017, and in the run-up to the film the character has been heavily promoted in the comics. Among other things, she’s had numerous origin stories — mostly stand-alones like Wonder Woman: Year One or The Legend of Wonder Woman — all of which have focused heavily on Amazon culture.

Grevioux, along with artist Ryan Benjamin, will go back centuries before Wonder Woman and look at the history of Amazon culture and what created the environment that birthed Diana.

You can get it at your local comic shop tomorrow or order a digital copy on ComiXology.
