A new Superman is coming to TV. He's played by Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin, and he'll be making his debut in Supergirl season 2, as the show joins the CW's Flash/Arrrow/Legends of Tomorrow shared universe this fall. Major buzz was recently generated when Hoechlin's Superman TV costume was revealed in a first look official photo; understandably there has been strong reaction, and a lot of it has been very negative.
However, maybe the fans who don't support Hoechlin as Superman - or the look of his costume - will come around when they see how his version of The Man of Steel is going to be throwing down with a villain (possibly Metallo) in Supergirl. Check out the latest Supergirl season 2 set video, shot overlooking the Vancouver set where the show is filming:

Af first glance, it would seem to be two stunt performers suited up for the scene, but it's hard to confirm either way, from the video alone. No matter who it is in the actual video, the question that arises from it is: Is that truly Metallo (almost certainly is), and who is playing him? Actor Brian Austin Green previously brought Metallo to life on the small screen during The CW's run of Smallville, and since the character is an evil cyborg with a Kryptonite heart, he's certainly no small threat to Superman and his cousin, Supergirl.
All in all the fight choreography looks pretty intense, and Metallo is definitely a fun character that would be welcome in the CW's "Flarrowverse." All in all, Supergirl already looks more exciting and intriguing now that it's on The CW.
Supergirl will premiere on The CW this fall, alongside The Flash, Arrow, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
