The CW Television Network has released the official synopsis for "Killer Frost," which is directed by Kevin Smith (Clerks) and is the seventh episode of The Flash's third season. It will feature Dr. Caitlin Snow being forced to use her metahuman powers to save Barry Allen, leading to her fully-transforming into Killer Frost!

KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS; KILLER FROST EMERGES — Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) uses her powers to save Barry (Grant Gustin) but as her mother predicted, the effort unleashes her inner Killer Frost. Killer Frost goes on a rampage looking for Dr. Alchemy, kidnapping Julian (Tom Felton) and battling both The Flash and Vibe (Carlos Valdes). Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) have a heart to heart

Kevin Smith directed the episode with story by Judalina Neira and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Brooke Roberts.

Last year, Smith directed the twenty-first episode of the second season of The Flash, titled "The Runaway Dinosaur," and it featured Barry going on an emotional journey into The Speed Force after a dangerous experiment to get his speed back went haywire. While there, Barry conversed with The Speed Force, and it helped him accept his mother's death — temporarily. The episode was praised by critics and fans alike and earned Smith the opportunity to direct another episode in the series.

Based on the characters from DC, The Flash is from by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Supergirl), Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow, The Flash), Sarah Schechter (Arrow, DC's Legends of Tomorrow) and Aaron and Todd Helbing.

The Flash airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. "Killer Frost" premieres on November 22.
