The Flash's Savitar Reveal Explains Legends Of Tomorrow 2056 Message

Several episodes into the second season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Professor Martin Stein and Jefferson "Jax" Jackson discovered a secret room in The Waverider. As they search the room, a computer on the wall turns on and "UPLINK FROM BARRY ALLEN" flashes on the screen. When Jax activates the link, Barry's message begins to play and the screen reveals that it was sent 40 years in the future.
At that time, we only got to hear the introductory part of the message. Fans had to wait until the "Invasion!" crossover event in order to hear the rest. That's when Jax and Stein approached Barry and played the message for him and Oliver Queen. When Barry is questioned about the meaning of it, the Scarlet Speedster has a pretty good idea that it has something to do with him creating Flashpoint -- the one in which he saved his mother -- and trying to reset the timeline.
"Sorry to contact you like this, Captain Hunter, but I can't risk putting any more lives in danger," Barry , from the year 2056, said. "And neither can you. Which is why you'll keep what I'm about to tell you a secret, even from the rest of your team. A war is coming Captain Hunter and at some point you are going to be called back to Central City to fight it. So you need to know that while you and your team have been in the temporal zone, I made a choice that affected the timeline. As you know, whenever you alter the past those changes affect the present and get compounded in the future. When you return, you will be in the new timeline I created where everyone's past and everyone's future has been affected. Including yours. When you come back, don't trust anything or anyone. Not even me."
So now that we know Savitar is Future Barry, does that reveal connect to the 2056 message?
Yes, the message left by a future Barry cautioning Rip Hunter against trusting anyone in the future, including himself, does tie into the reveal that Savitar is future Barry Allen. In fact, that particular point will be addressed very soon. "Someone does point out that suddenly that message makes a lot of sense," EP Andrew Kreisberg says. - EW
Barry (Grant Gustin) takes drastic measures to stop Savitar. Meanwhile, H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) continues to push Tracy Brand (guest star Anne Dudek) to design the trap for Savitar and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) returns with an interesting proposal.
David McWhirter directed the episode written by Judalina Neira & Lauren Certo.
