Most kids crafted their own Hollywood moments after seeing them in a film, and it typically included plenty of cardboard boxes, couch cushions, and scotch tape. For Jorge Loor, Andres Quirola, and Jorge Rodriguez, scotch tape and cardboard just wouldn’t do, as they decided to build their own version of the Dark Knight’s iconic Batmobile.

The Batmobile of choice for them was the one seen in Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman; Dawn of Justice, which also included Ben Affleck’s first time in the Batman role. The trio are part of a company called Adapta that is based in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where they along with a team of 15 people restore classic cars and architecture. They decided to use that skillset to build a full replica of Affleck’s Batmobile, and as you can see it was quite the undertaking (via Batman News) that took only four months to complete.

Using an engine and transmission from a Ford Bronco and a chassis from a Toyota Stout, they formed the base, while also including things like all-terrain suspension, hydraulic direction, and fully working AC and electronics. Using a variety of set photos and promotional photos they were able to craft the vehicle’s exterior. It’s amazingly accurate, especially since it’s not like they had diagrams or blueprints for it. On the big night of Batman V Superman’s release, they took it out for a test drive, but it, unfortunately, broke down on them en route to the theaters.

Since then they’ve managed to get the kinks worked out, and the vehicle can be seen at various conventions. You can see the vehicle in all of its glory in the gallery and in the video above.
