The latest season of CW’s The Flash ended with a bang. And though Barry Allen, Iris West, and the rest of Team Flash finally defeated the seemingly insurmountable threat of Savitar, the Scarlet Speedster had to sacrifice his own freedom for the safety of everyone else.

With the Flash entering the prison within the Speed Force, he’s leaving behind his new fiancรฉ Iris and the rest of his friends. But with everything Iris has been through over the last season, she’ll likely be the most affected by Barry’s absence when the show returns.
“Iris is really struggling to deal with that, and she does it in her own way,” actor Candice Patton said to TV Line.
Patton was asked about the possibility of Iris taking on a bigger role within Team Flash given Berry’s absence, but she was understandably coy about the character’s position in Season 4 of the series.
“That’s a very interesting question that I can’t really answer!”
We’ll find out more when the Flash returns to the CW this fall.
