In one of the photos, the original cast of Artemis, Superboy, Dick Grayson, and Aqualad seemed to appear on the screen. Fans were blowing up about sleek new uniforms, and the fact that they all look like adults now, everyone seemed to overlook one major detail.
While Aqualad is the fourth member of that original team, the man standing in the middle of this photo is another hero entirely.
During an exclusive interview with ComicBook, the Young Justice creative team confirmed that the character you see is Jefferson Pierce, AKA Black Lightning.
Many immediately thought that this character was Aqualad because he was standing with all of his closest friends. Black Lightning was already an adult in the original Young Justice series, so no one really expected him to show up next to the younger heroes.
So, why is Black Lightning hanging out with the likes of Artemis and Superboy?
There's no telling as of now; those involved with the series are keeping the Season 3 details close to the chest. If we had to guess however, it seems as though Jefferson could be leading this team of Young Justice "Graduates" in some more advanced missions.
