Earlier this year, Zack Snyder made his move to the world of social media. The acclaimed director took time to set up a Facebook page and even went a step further when he made a mobile Vero account. In the past weeks, the director has been sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from movies like Justice League and Man of Steel.

And, now, he’s took the time to share a dark image from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Synder recently uploaded a picture of Ben Affleck’s alternate Knightmare Batman suit.

Not long ago, Snyder posted the stunning image to his Vero account with the caption, “Joker card.” The picture itself is cropped to remove the wearer’s face, so it’s anyones guess as to who is donning the rugged suit. The picture gives fans an up-close image of the suit which features a heavy leather coat, reinforced gauntlets, and pants. Batman’s traditional torso armor can be seen, though its scratched facade looks like it has seen better days. And – of course – fans would be amiss to overlook the firearm Batman is toting in the photo.

In fact, the gun itself relates back to Synder and his photo caption. The weapon bares a small image of a card deck’s Joker in a not-so-subtle nod to Batman’s arch nemesis.

Of course, fans got their first look at Batman’s Knightmare suit in Batman v Superman. The suit made its debut in a trippy sequence wherein fans find the hero in what appears to be a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Covered in dust, the vigilante is overtaken by mysterious, pro-Superman before the group is attacked. A hoard of what looks like Parademons descend upon the soldiers, and when Batman recovers from the assault, he wakes up in an underground bunker facing Krypton’s Son himself.

With his onslaught of photos, Synder is keeping fans on their toes with his social media game. Earlier this week, the director posted a never-before-seen photo of Henry Cavill on the set of Man of Steel. Synder shared a picture of the actor’s first film test he did with Superman’s suit.
