Several new Pokemon have been sighted as raid bosses in Yokohama during the Pikachu Outbreak Festival that have Pokemon Go players excited at the possibility of more diversified raids.

Like Pokemon Go Fest in Chicago, the Pikachu Outbreak Festival is a massive event taking place in Japan that brought out tons of Pokemon Go Trainers to take part in the festivities. With Pokemon filling the streets, raids were also underway all throughout the area with some new faces appearing atop the gyms.
For those who weren’t able to attend the Pikachu Festival, other players are compiling lists of Pokemon that have made an appearance as raid bosses so far. Their appearances don’t guarantee that they’ll see releases elsewhere as raid Pokemon, but that hasn’t stopped players from hoping for such an appearance.
Two Iconic Pokemon Are Raid Bosses
While they don’t exactly have the rarity or importance that a Legendary Pokemon carries in a raid, two iconic Pokemon from the series have been sighted as raid bosses in Japan.
Pikachu is one of the first new raid bosses that was noticed in Yokohama, an addition that makes sense given how important the Pokemon is to the franchise overall. Like the other raids that have been identified, Pikachu appears to be a Tier 4 raid.
The second instantly-recognizable raid boss is one of Pikachu’s main adversaries throughout the animated series, Meowth. Meowth comes in at a slightly lesser CP level than Pikachu’s, but the raids will still give players a chance to catch a powerful Meowth and turn that into an even better Persian.
Fire And Ice Pokemon
Two Pokemon that couldn’t be more different were also spotted in Yokohama as new raid bosses, a Dark/Fire Pokemon as well as an Ice/Ground Pokemon.
Houndoom is one imposing dual-type Pokemon that made an appearance during the festivities, one that many players will no doubt hope to take on in order to catch a more powerful version. Houndoom has persisted throughout the series as a trusty Pokemon companion that carries a dark vibe, something that’s kept up its popularity throughout games and shows.
Opposite from the Fire type is Piloswine, the furry Swinub evolution. Houndoom’s got the superior CP between the two, at least in the evidence provided so far, but both evolutions would be worthwhile catches to help round out aย Pokemonย Goย team and diversify your type advantage possibilities.
The Psychic And The Normal
Wobbuffet and Ursaring,ย one that relies on psychic powers and one that instead uses its normal strengths,ย were also both seen during the festival as new raid bosses.
Wobbuffet has been a pretty goofy Pokemon throughout the animated series, and from the evidence provided of the new raid boss, it doesn’t look like too many improvements have been made as far as power levels go. This Wobbuffet that was sighted only has a CP of 7144, so while it might be a nice catch for your collection, don’t expect to be taking down many gyms with it aftwerwards.
The second Pokemon that was found is a much more serious-looking one, an Ursaring. While it’s still not the highest CP that’s been reported from the newest raid bosses, it still looks like a battle that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Powerful Pokemon For Your Team
While some of the other raid bosses that have been sighted may be catches that players would pass up on, these two are certainly ones that should get players out of the house and down to a nearby raid.
Golem is the first of the two powerful Pokemon that was spotted at the festival, a Pokemon that’s been invaluable so far in the new raid system. With the power that Golem has had against Legendary raids when fighting Moltres, Zapdos, Lugia, and even Articuno, Golem is a fighter that any Pokemon Go players should hope to have on their team.
A second Pokemon that needs little introduction is Dragonite, a powerful Pokemon that many players have been hoping would see time as a raid boss soon. While there are confirmed reports of seeing Dragonite in Yokohama, a screenshot of the raid boss wasn’t available, but we can expect it to have quite the CP level.
