Gran Turismo Players Are Furious Over Not Being Able To Save Their Single-Player Progress

Immediately fellow gamers rallied to the post to show their sympathies or just express their own frustrations with this feature, or others like it. One Redditor mentioned a game breaking crash that occurred during his time with Gran Turismo Sport:
"My game crashed because it lost connection and then was trying to reconnect until it all went dark and never returned, only the music remained. Fair enough if I was actually playing online but I was playing through the single player missions - this should not be a thing."
Others expressed that they thought this issue was just a glitch on their end, not realising it was a much wider problem:
"I didn't realize it was this bad, explains why nothing saved when I played for like an hour (internet connection was lost). I'd honestly rather return/sell this than play all that over again."
The commentary only got nastier and more fed up, especially since this mechanic seems to be on the rise with games that focus on their multiplayer aspects. Is how Gran Turismo handles their single-player aspect a deal breaker for you? Or is it something you're willing to work around for love of the game?
Gran Turismo Sport is available now for PlayStation 4.
