Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Showcases A Fuzzy Friend And Level Comparison In New Clips

Most games make players wait for trailers for new footage, but Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy seems to be taking a different approach by releasing a stream of videos and little clips to whet fans' appetites. Over the past few days a number of these videos have dropped, so let's spin through 'em, shall we?

First up, we have a clip focusing on the adorable Polar, your steed in the "Un-Bearable" level originally from Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. We previously saw Polar in action in a comparison video, but this clip focuses more directly on the fuzzy little dickens. You definitely can't fault Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy's animation or fur rendering. I wouldn't have called the Crash games particularly cute before, but they certainly are now!

Next up, we have another comparison video, which you can check out below. This one shows the reinvention of the "Rock It" level from Crash Bandicoot 2. This is a jetpack stage, and the new version is impressive, featuring a silky-smooth framerate, brighter colors than before, and some nice detail in the backgrounds.

Finally, remember that idle animation contest we told you about? Activision asked fans to post a drawing, photo, video, or just a plain ol' text description or an original Crash Bandicoot idle animation to social media with the hashtag #CrashIdleContest attached. The eventual winners were Simon Davidian and Kirsty Capes of the UK, who came up with the idea to have Crash try to play volleyball with a Wumpa fruit only to get it all over his face. Ain't that always the way? I suppose that's a fine idea, but I still want Crash to do John Cena's "You Can't See Me" taunt. On account of the jorts.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy smashes onto the PS4 on June 30.
