Nintendo Switch exclusive ARMS has been well-received by critics and fans alike, but some have, justifiably, criticized the game’s lack of content. ARMS launched with a mere 10 characters, with one more being added since launch, which is unquestionably a bit thin for a fighting game. Thankfully, it seems ARMS fans may have a surprisingly large selection of new characters still to come.

Dataminers have discovered a list of character names, 20 in all, buried in ARMS‘ files. These characters are all listed by nicknames, but it’s fairly easy to suss out who they areโ€ฆall 11 current characters are accounted for, with a further 9 nicknames hinting at future characters. You can check out the list, below:

  • Belt (Max Brass)
  • Chain
  • Coil
  • DNA (Helix)
  • Hair (Twintelle)
  • Mee (Min Min)
  • Mummy (Mummy)
  • Ninja (Ninjara)
  • Plant
  • Police (Byte and Bark)
  • Ribbon (Ribbon Girl)
  • Robo
  • Scroll
  • Snake (Kid Cobra)
  • Spring (Spring Man)
  • Sumo
  • Surprise
  • Sweet
  • Twintale
  • Worker (Mechanica)

Some interesting options on there โ€“ seems we have another robot, a sumo wrestler, and candy and plant-themed fighters on the way. And who could “Twintale” be? Is it just a duplicate listing for Twintelle? Or maybe it’s a male version of Twintelle? I bet some of ARMS‘ more intense fans would be excited to check out his buns.

So, when can we can expect our next ARMS character? The official ARMS Twitter account recently hinted a new fighter may arrive this month.

Here’s what the message says:

“This is a news flash! A balance adjustment update is planned for the middle of next week. Other than that, will there any other exciting additions, or not? Please wait for further news!”

ARMS is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. All the game’s DLC, including new fighters, is free.
