In the wild world of PC modding, you never know what to expect. Just when we thought that no mod would ever usurp the throne from Skyrim‘s Thomas the Tank Engine shenanigans, someone comes along and mods in our favorite characters from Toy Story into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (mod here). Woody, of course, has taken over the role of hero, replacing Link’s model and assuming his animations, which are surprisingly fitting. Take a look at the hilarious trailer above, featuring a song that I think you’re all familiar with.

Okay, you have to admit: Once you see it, it makes perfect sense. Woody is finally the star of the best open-world cowboy adventure game ever made. He gets to sit around camp fires, tame and ride horses (and you better believe that you can name your horse Bullseye), and even hunt your own food like a cowboy should.
Oh, and we saved the best for last. There’s a separate skin mod that makes hang-gliding in Breath of the Wild much more fun than it already is. Take a look at this next video.
Buzz Lightyear and Falling With Style
And now our Toy Story fandom has reached new levels of unhealthiness, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Woody and Buzz belong together. They’re friends until the very end. How on earth could we even entertain the thought of a Woody skin for Link without somehow bringing Buzz along on this grand new adventure?
Now, with the Buzz Lightyear paraglider skin (found here), these two toys can explore the wide world of Hyrule together. The way this works is downright brilliant. Whenever Woody takes a leap of faith from a high place, he can reach up and, lo! Buzz Lightyear is there to grab his hands and turn what would have been a deadly fall into a pleasant flight. Actually, you’ll have to excuse me; they’re not actually flying. They’re falling with style.
Now that we’ve seen the mod, we’re not sure we can go back to the real thing. Would you rather explore Hyruleย and play through the game as Link, or as Woody?
