It seems that there’s something cool happening each weekend with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, whether it’s taking part in a good old-fashioned round of Prop Hunt, or simply indulging in the weekly double XP offerings.

This weekend is no exception, as the developers of the game, Raven Software, have recently announced yet another big double XP weekend โ€“ and it’s already underway.

The team has confirmed that double experience points will be given out specifically with the Capture the Flag mode within the game, and those that take part in sessions will be able to stack up on points with ease.

“Double XP โ€“ Capture the Flag is now LIVE for Weekend Warfare until Monday 5/15 at 10 AM PST! #MWRemastered,” the team noted.

While this doesn’t cover the full spectrum of the game, Capture the Flag is known as one of the more enjoyable modes offered in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, where teams race across a war-torn battlefield in an attempt to capture an enemy’s flag, and then return it to home base before they end up getting fragged. It’s a lot easier said than done, for a couple of reasons.

First, once you pick up the flag, you’ll pretty much need to race for your life to get back to the flag at your home base โ€“ and considering that the entire enemy team (save for any stragglers trying to get their hands on your flag) is trying to keep it secure, you’re going to need all the cover you can basically get.

Also, if the other team steals your flag, you’ll pretty much have to stop them before you get a chance to score a flag win of your own. So the whole thing’s a tricky balance of offense and defense โ€“ but we believe that’s what makes it so fun to begin with, right?

You can hop into the Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer action over the next few days and see what the mode’s all about โ€“ or conquer it again if you’ve been used to Call of Duty‘s multiplayer action. Either way, go have fun!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is available now, as part of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Legacy Edition, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
