There is a lot of stuff to do in the new Call of Duty WWII title that recently released. From the stunning campaign, to the multitude of multiplayer options - even the zombie mode continues to enthrall players - but some might not know there is a more classic way to unwind in-game. That's right - the latest CoD title allows players to get down on some retro titles in between taking out hordes of the Nazi undead.

For those needing a breather from the intense WWII campaign or a little break from going for that Nuke streak, the Headquarters social hub allows a little reprieve. Utilizing this social space, there are up to 15 different retro Activision games ready to be played ... even better, the controls can be modified to adapt the classic game style to the modern day control set up. Here are the games available so far:

  • Barnstorming
  • Boxing
  • Chopper Command
  • Cosmic Commuter
  • Demon Attack
  • Enduro
  • Fishing Derby
  • Grand Prix
  • Kaboom!
  • Private Eye
  • River Raid
  • Sequest
  • Skiing
  • Spider Fighter

The games above can be purchased with armory credits, in-game currency. Luckily, they are easy to earn while simply playing the game so it won't put players in a spot to have to spend more IRL money.

The reaction from players to this news has been hilarious and very polar opposite. On one hand, you have the veteran gamers that see this as a neat little addition to pull at those nostalgic feels. On the other, more "aging" side of the spectrum - the younger crowd doesn't seem to know what to make of it. Some asked if there was a point, others asking why would anyone play that "garbage", and the rest of died a little inside as we re-play our favourite games with tears running down our faces.

Call of Duty WWII, and the retro throwback, is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
