With Destiny 2 still in the throes of recent release hype, and public events in full swing, Bungie has recently released brand new information regarding new content coming up called Faction Rallies. To help Guardians with the upcoming content, here’s what you need to know about the new event before it goes live.

Faction Rallies are an upcoming event that will occur after the Weekly reset. For the full reset schedule for everything within the latest Bungie shooter, check out our guide here. For the Faction Rallies, however, that reset time will take place on Tuesday, September 26th at 02:00 PT and will run until 02:00 PT on October 3rd. The factions returning will be exciting for those that enjoyed the first Destiny:
- Dead Orbit with Arach Jalaal
- Future War Cult with Lakshmi-2
- New Monarchy with Executor Hideo
It is important to note that participation in this event requires a completion of the main game’s campaign.
According to Bungie’s blog post:
“Each of the factions of the Tower is having a rally to collect resources for its cause. They’re recruiting Guardians to gather supplies for their faction and destroy enemy resources. They’ll offer a suite of rewards to help the Guardians rise up against any enemy threats. As an incentive, each faction has set aside a powerful weapon to entice players to choose their side. The faction whose Guardians collect the most faction packages will be declared the winner. The winning faction will offer the weapon to everyone, but all who pledged loyalty will receive it with a huge discount as repayment for their contributions to their faction’s cause.”
Players must then choose a side and complete specific activities in support of their chosen faction. This includes Public Events, Lost Sectors, raids, strikes, and Crucible challenges. With each task completed, Guardians will be rewarded faction tokens that can be exchanged for rare loot.

Specific gear such as new shaders, specific weapon types, and unique armor will all be available as rewards for players that participate in the Faction Rallies. In addition to the drops shown in the pictures above, there will also be one special weapon that will be sold to the winning faction for 1,000 glimmer, if pledged. For those that did not pledge to the winning faction can still purchase the unique weaponry, but at the much inflated price of 50,000 glimmer.

Destiny 2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players, with a PC release slated for October 24th. The Faction Rallies event begins on September 26th at 02:00 AM PT.
